Your Work Matters

When I first started my career, my admin manager once told me, "An executive may not remember what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel."

He was, of course, quoting the incomparable Maya Angelou who said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

An executive may not recall all the work you did to rearrange their schedule, but they will remember being able to attend their kids' soccer game.

They may not see the hours you spent on the phone rearranging their travel, but they will remember a well-planned trip.

They may not recall the detailed brief you gave them prior to a big meeting, but they will remember closing the sale.

Be encouraged that all your work is felt. Even on the days that it may not feel like it, you are making a difference!
